IRON EDGE x SCOTT PENDLEBURY

We’ve been in the game for over 20 years, just like Scott Pendlebury.
With a career spanning 442 AFL games, and counting, Scott tells us about the strength training equipment that’s supported his longevity. And why Iron Edge has been his first choice – both in the footy clubs and at home.
Scott’s top equipment picks
Back Extension
“The Back Extension has been my favourite. I had some back issues earlier in my career and it’s the thing that we spent a lot of time on to progress and get over those injuries. It’s something that I’ve kept in my training ever since.”

GHD
“I think the GHD is the most underrated bit of equipment. You can train your calves, your lower back and your hamstrings all at once - there’s a lot of different movements you can do on it. I’ve gotten a lot of bang for buck out of that machine.”

Power Bands
“I use the Power Bands a lot. Especially pre-training to activate glutes with square walks or 45 angle walks. They’re a favourite of mine.”

Staying at the top for over two decades
“I’m not sure if it’s what I’ve done differently, but I think the off season is the most important time for athletes. I’ve been a big advocate of getting straight back into the gym and building up my strength to prepare my body for another season.”

“For the last 21 years at Collingwood it’s always been Iron Edge and that’s all I’ve known. All of the gear’s fantastic. It’s the best of the best for athletes.”
