Football Speed: Linear Speed Practical 1/4

BRIEF

Practical session taking participants from start to finish of pre-field preparation, activation and priming, drill progressions and speed training for development of football-specific speed. Ideal for practitioners working in field sports who want to develop their speed training programming and coaching skills. In this session, you will learn about training methods for building flexibility, specific strength qualities, coordination, running mechanics and practical exercises for challenging skills at speed, tried and tested on professional athletes.

BIO

Nathan Kiely is an ASCA-accredited level 2 professional strength and conditioning coach with a BSportExSci (hons) from the University of Technology Sydney specialising in biomechanics. Nathan is currently speed and reconditioning coach at the Brisbane Broncos where he is responsible for developing the NRL squad's speed and agility program, along with long-term end stage reconditioning for rehab athletes.

A Speed-Based Approach To ACL Rehab 2/4

In this highly interactive talk, Alan will take us through his unique approach to ACL rehab which places movement at the forefront of his practice. Intended for strength and conditioning coaches, physios and rehab specialists, attendees will learn the Elevate: Rehab philosophy first-hand, plus have opportunities to develop their coaches eye when it comes to all things speed and end-stage rehab.

Alan Murdoch is the founder and Head Coach at Elevate: Speed & Rehab. Elevate is an end-stage rehab consultancy, specialising in helping elite athletes return from long-term injuries better than ever. Having spent his formative years as a rehab specialist at premiership rugby team Bath Rugby, followed by 3 years as Head Coach at Speedworks Bath, Alan's rehab practice is shaped heavily by the development of high-intensity speed-based actions and the transfer of training in the pursuit of enhanced performance. Alan specialises in the rehabilitation of ACLs and Achilles injuries.

Maximising the Transfer of Change of Direction Training in Team Sport Athletes 3/4

BRIEF

Working with team sport athletes, across either field or court environments, force the strength and conditioning coach to do a lot with very little time each week. This presentation will delve into the priority areas of change of direction training, giving clear and actionable methods for the coach to make an impact in their chosen team sport. This will cover key priority areas in the gym and on the training deck.

BIO

Lachlan Wilmot has been working in the fitness industry for 20 years, working with both the general population and elite-level athletes. Lachlan is currently the Director of Coaching and Performance at Athletes Authority in Sydney, a company that specialises in athlete development and coach education. Lachlan also currently sits on the board of directors for the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association and heads up the physical preparation of the NSW Swifts Netball team.

Dr. Joseph Coyne, PhD is currently the Director of High Performance and Sports Development at Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar, strength and power coach for Bond University Swimming and is on the curriculum development team at University of Southern Queensland. Joseph has over 15 years’ experience working with elite professional and Olympic athletes, across a number of different sports. Previous roles include Performance Director for UFC Performance Institute Shanghai, Physical Preparation Coach for Chinese Athletics Association’s jump and sprint section and Performance Manager for the Chinese Olympic Committee. Joseph has also published a number of research outputs on training load and international Olympic athlete performance, which was the subject of his PhD.
