The strength and conditioning coaches at Geelong FC wanted a total gym refurbishment. Previously, the gym had limited open floor space and limited barbell stations, meaning that the amount of athletes in the gym at once, and the programming of these athletes, was less than ideal. Further, the existing flooring was not suitable.

Iron Edge consulted with Chris Dennis, the Geelong FC Strength Coach, to ultimately provide a solution that would involve multiple work stations and free up floor space. The entire gym layout was worked through together, with the decision made to install 2 x Triple Cell Matrix units. These racks provided 12 barbell stations and an endless amount of room for suspension training, chin-ups and powerband exercises. A change in the flooring was also required, with over 400sq.m of 15mm flooring installed. This included a customized solution to integrate 3 x weightlifting platform bamboo inserts, resulting in a seamless flooring finish. The fit-out also included Custom Bumper Plates, Foam Plyometric boxes, Premium Barbells, Specialty barbells and a range of mixed implements.

"When it came time to re-do the gym at Geelong, we were looking to create a more functional gym that could allow us to train the way we needed to. I had experience with Iron Edge equipment and knew they could provide high-quality, Australian-made products to suit our needs. Their commitment to providing us with an elite training facility was second to none, with regular site visits and phone calls throughout the planning stage to ensure we got exactly what we wanted. Layout plans, flooring, installation, custom-made products - nothing was too hard for them and they were more than happy to help with everything that I needed for the gym.

We now have a gym that provides us with everything possible to improve the athletic performance of our athletes. We can also regularly fit our whole squad of 46 players in the gym at one time, which previously was never an option. In terms of quality equipment, full end-to-end service and expert staff, there is no other option than to go with Iron Edge
