The Iron Cage is Iron Edge’s answer to: "what does the absolute best squat rack look like?"
Tough enough to withstand an exploding bomb - or a dropped lift from an international level powerlifter. Storage Pins capable of holding all of the Bumper Plates you'd ever need, and then some. Options for band loading and de-loading at the top and bottom of each Cage. A large Cage big enough to lift inside or outside of, or a space efficient footprint.
Each Cage is fitted with large baseplates to provide maximum stability, which can be bolted down if you choose. The Uprights include 4-directional laser-cut holes, numbered for easy height identification. A specifically designed powder coat provides an extremly tough finish, resistant to scratches and easy to grip.

This version of the Iron Cage includes 2 x Smith Machine Attachments on either side, providing the capabilities of 2 Smith Machines in a footprint smaller than most single-use machines!
Our intelligent 'lock-open' system is designed to keep the bar in the un-racked lifting position throughout the movement until it is deliberately twisted into the safety rails. No more hitting the safety rails on the way up or accidentally racking the bar prematurely.
The rails are 2.4m long, just like our regular uprights, so you'll have no restrictions in locking out overhead. You can even raise the rails up to 50cm from the ground, resulting in a whopping 2.9m high lockout point. This works in perfect harmony with our 'lock-open' system for explosive movements like bench press throws or standing jumps.
We've made a point that lifting with our attachment feels like using a regular rack as much as possible. Ultra-smooth linear bearings will have your bar gliding up the rails, just like a traditional Barbell. Staying consistent with our range of Olympic Bars, the Smith Machine Attachment bar is 20kg and is fitted with 35cm sleeves. Your exact weight capacity will depend on what plates you have, but using our Competition Bumpers for example you could fit 140kg of Bumpers per side, totalling 300kg including the bar.
18 catch positions spaced 12cm apart provide ample range of motion, with adjustable safety stops standing either side ready to catch the bar.

- Do I have to bolt this down
- Yes. Due to the small footprint, the Compact and Compact Double will have to be bolted down for stability
- The remaining Iron Cage models can be left free standing
- Will this work with other companies attachments
- Depends on their specs
- Our uprights are 65mm x 65mm, with 26mm diameter holes
- Can I use a Platform with this rack
- Yes - if you have our React Tiles as flooring, you can use a seamless Platform Inlay
- Alternatively, we can add a custom-sized Platform on top of your floor and under your rack
- Can I change the height of the rack
- The uprights themselves cannot be individually customised
- The crossbeams can be adjusted up/down by about 30cm
- Can I pick these up
- Sorry, but we cannot accommodate pick ups. We can ship all over Australia though!
