The Concept2 StrengthErg is designed for safe, low-impact strength training. Unlike traditional weights, the StrengthErg uses air resistance — meaning the resistance automatically adjusts to how hard you push or pull. The harder you work, the more resistance you will feel. This also eliminates the eccentric (lowering) phase of each exercise, reducing muscular and joint stress and lowering the risk of injury. It's impossible to be unable to complete a rep.
This is perfect for scenarios where safety is paramount, such as rehabilitation settings or older adults. Eliminating weights and technique considerations also makes the StrengthErg highly suited for circuit training with multiple people. Simply hop on and push (or pull)!
Offering three exercises in one compact unit (seated leg press, chest press, and seated row) means the StrengthErg is both space and cost efficient. A huge benefit for clinics, studios, or home gyms where versatility matters.

At Iron Edge we employ experienced and qualified engineers to design, test and then source the best manufacturers of all our equipment. Up until 2017 we manufactured in-house, but market pressures forced us to move manufacturing overseas. However we weren’t going to compromise on the quality and structural integrity of our products, so after rigorous research, we’ve been able to partner with some of the industry’s best and most experienced equipment manufacturers. In many ways they are more advanced and sophisticated than our in-house work shop, so you can be assured that the quality of all our products meet the same high standards and are worthy of the Iron Edge brand.
