Switching rapidly from one training modality to the next can have great benefits when building all-round fitness, but it does pose problems when it comes to footwear.  Running shoes are no good for barbell work, and most people wouldn't even attempt to run in their expensive weightlifting shoes – not really conducive to good running technique and will quickly ruin the precious shoes.  And if you want to climb a rope neither shoe is going to be much help.

If you don’t want to perform exercises in inappropriate footwear and don’t want to have to change shoes between exercises either – a waste of time and pain in the butt – then Inov8 have just what you’re looking for: a group of shoes in their X-Over range specifically designed for performance and safety for a wide range of training modalities from Olympic lifting to Pose running.

Iron Edge will soon be stocking a range of Inov8 shoes for Crossfitters and anyone else who likes to mix it up in training:

  • Bare XF 210 – With no height differential in the sole, no midsole, a sticky sole for a stable base during weight lifting and a one piece TPU lacing support for durability when climbing ropes, this shoes caters for every element of fitness.
  • Bare XF 260 – Similar to the 210 but with a Velcro strap fastening system like the tarsal straps on weightlifting shoes for a really secure fit and maximum stability, plus Rope-tec grip and guidance system for serious rope climbing.
  • F-Lite 195 – A low profile sole and the lightest shoe in the X-Over range, the 195 is for those with a developed Pose running style and lifts requiring a low and stable platform.
  • F-Lite 215 – A female specific model  featuring an injected EVA midsole for increased cushioning, as well as reinforcement of the medial and lateral sections of the sole for rope climbing.
  • F-Lite 230 – This show has a low profile cushioned midsole and a 6mm height differential between heel and toe – perfect for Olympic lifting and transitioning to a natural running style.
  • F-Lite 240 – An updated version of the 230 featuring an injected EVA midsole for increased cushioning, as well as reinforcement of the medial and lateral sections of the sole for rope climbing.
The Inov8 shoes are coded in terms of their weight (grams) so you can tell instantly how heavy the shoe is eg. the F-Lite 195 weighs  a mere 195gms.
