The skipping rope has traditionally been either leather or plastic. Both materials tend to degrade rather quickly – as most things do when they are struck against the floor a couple of hundred times a minute. Wire may sound unconventional but as far as durability is concerned, it can’t be beaten. This comes with the added benefit that wire cuts the air more effectively than either plastic or leather.

What’s the difference between the Originals and the Elites
- If you're just basic conditioning, the Originals will do the job and then some. If you're more particular and want to perform triple unders, into Crossfit etc the Elites may be worth the upgrade
